We are looking for a Farm Manager for Cranborne Estate. Cranborne is part of a family-held business centred on the village of Cranborne in Dorset. We own, manage and derive our income from property and land. We aim to be vibrant and forward-looking, and to balance a history of 400 years of family ownership with the requirements of the future.
We farm on largely chalk soils producing combinable crops and grass. The farm covers five Sites of Special Scientific Interest and lies within the Cranborne Chase AONB. As such, environmental stewardship is fundamental to the farm’s management. We are members of a large farming cluster and, with our neighbours, have improved our farmland habitats by creating beetle banks; establishing new hedges; flower-rich margins; digging ponds and planting trees. Grass and conservation grazing is becoming integral to our operation.
We believe food production is entirely compatible with our environmental aims and are therefore seeking a farm manager who shares these passions and wishes to help shape and deliver an exciting land management strategy as part of a close-knit, progressive team.
An attractive package is offered.
